How do diet pills work or does its job when it goes into our bodies, to make us &#8220;lose&#8221; weight? Are there side effects and is it harmful to our bodies? It sounds to good to be true because by just taking a pill and losing weight from it.</p>

<p><i>Answer by jocelyn</i><br/>Hiya, In my line of work, it is easy to comfort eat, especially when there’s a deadline to meet and you’re under lots of stress. Finding time for the gym or cooking healthy food was not something I ever really found time to think about. I had never even realised that I’d become so large until someone I knew well, who I hadn’t seen me for a while no longer knew who I was.</p>

<p><i>Answer by Cindy in Texas</i><br/>Protein &#038; saturated fat are necessary for good health.  Fruit provides neither.</p>
<p>As healthy as fruit may be, fructose the sugar in most fruits creates triglycerides.  Triglycerides &#8220;trap&#8221; fat in fat cells.</p>

<p>However, after a few weeks of eating fruit for breakfast I was stunned to discover my fasting triglycerides had skyrocketed from below 100 to nearly 3,000 (yes that is not a typo)! Clearly this diet was NOT right for me and was rapidly doing some serious damage to my body. </p>

<p>Fructose is the most lipogenic (fat producing) carb. Table sugar is also a refined product &#038; not much better. Sodas have been found with up to 65% fructose.</p>

<p>The body does better with more saturated fat than less.  Saturated fats are required to make many vitamins &#038; minerals bioavailable so they can be incorporated into the body structure.  Saturated fat is required for the body to function properly &#038; to regenerate &#038; heal.</p>
<p>7 Reasons to Eat More Saturated Fat</p>
<p>1) Improved cardiovascular risk factors</p>
<p>Saturated fat in the diet is the only means to reduce the levels of lipoprotein (a) — that correlates strongly with risk for heart disease.  Eating fats raises the level of HDL, the so-called good cholesterol.</p>

<p>For proper function, the airspaces of the lungs have to be coated with a thin layer of lung surfactant. The fat content of lung surfactant is 100 percent saturated fatty acids. Replacement of these critical fats by other types of fat makes faulty surfactant &#038; potentially causes breathing difficulties, collapse of the airspaces &#038; respiratory distress.</p>
<p>5) Healthy brain</p>
<p>Your brain is mainly made of fat &#038; cholesterol. Though highly unsaturated essential fatty acids found in cold-water fish (EPA &#038; DHA) are important for brain &#038; nerve function, most of the fatty acids in the brain are actually saturated.  The brain needs saturated fats to function optimally.</p>
<p>6) Proper nerve signaling</p>
<p>Certain saturated fats, found in butter, lard, coconut oil, &#038; palm oil, function directly as signaling messengers that influence the metabolism.  Without the correct signals to tell the organs &#038; glands what to do, the job  gets done improperly.</p>

I am a mother of two and have had loads of trouble lossing weight and getting into shape.  I recently tried the slim-fast diet and after 6 weeks ofno weight loss (or gain)  i decided to quit because i was getting aggetated.  I am at a stand still and I am very unhappy with my appearance.  Does anyone out there have any tips on dieting without living on shakes and nutrition bars for the rest of my life? Possibley a way to increase my more then lost energy level?? <p><i>Answer by WiserAngel</i><br/>One thing I have figured out really fast is that you can diet and exercise all you want, but if your anxiety or stress is through the roof, the weight will not come off. There is a psychological aspect to it.</p>
<p>You can always try doing Weight Watchers Flex Point system on your own if you want. You buy the books on ebay (Dining Out Guide and Complete Food Guide) and you do it. You can eat any food you want, just a limited portion.</p>

High intensity is described as being able to only talk briefly, with rapid deep breathing and sweating after 3-5 minutes. Examples of high intensity activities are running or competitive cycling. </p>
<p>FlexPoints<br />
In addition to eating all of your Target Points each day and optionally eating some or all of your Activity Points each day, you’ll begin each week with 35 FlexPoints. Use them any way you please. Don’t use them at all, use some, divide them evenly over the week, or spend them all on a weekend splurge. Once the week is up, they’re gone. Keep track of them in your QuikTrak System.</p>

<p><i>Answer by brenda c</i><br/>that was me i hated myself.  well what i started to do is exersize everyday and go running for 20 minutes.  i also eat six meals a day but small portions and only healthy foods.  you need to lose about 3500 calories to lose one pound.  i have been doing this and in six weeks i have lost 40 poundds and i am happy and energetic all the time.  sometimes i felt like giving up because at one point i wasnt losing anything but it was because i was losing fat but gaining muscle.  just remember it takes time don&#8217;t rush it.</p>
